This is my kitchen chandelier, but it didnt always look this way.
It started out a lot like this one, a basic brass chandelier.
It came with the house or I might not have attempted anything like this. But my cheapness kicked into high gear, so I decided to spray paint it a robin's egg blue. At the time I had never even read a blog, but now I see that this is pretty commonplace. After living with it plain for a while I really thought it needed bling.
I purchased some crystals (acrylic cause I'm cheap), and used the tiniest drill bit ever to drill out a jillion holes. Then after that was done I still wasn't happy, so I used wire to add extra stuff where I couldn't drill.
In retrospect I should've spray painted over the wires! Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.
And of course I finished the look with a chain cover.
The problem I'm having now... I'm not positive, but I think I may be ready for a change again! What's a girl to do?!?!
Glad for microwaves today!

Wow! I love this! Seriously, so inspiring! I must make one too! I am on the prowl for a chandy now! Thanks for sharing! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I disagree with the spray painting the wires! They look great and are the same tone as the little chains holding the crystals together. No need to fuss.....super redo!:)
I think the wires look good as is too. The whole thing looks fantastic and it's pretty encouraging that most of us can probably find one of those brass beauties as our neighborhood thrift store if we wanted to try to follow your example.
Love your blog!
I love it! I really like the color you used it looks much better then before, thank you for sharing this at my party!
Completely amazing!!! Kudos to you! : )

First the chandy is now at it's loveliest and is just a beauty instead of the ugly brass. Second, the change you talk about is what I call decor illness. I have it too. Happens to the best of us.
I nosed around you blog and find you a kindred spirit with your creativity. I am your newest follower...come and check out mine.

I Love, love, love this! And I have the same chandy. I didn't like the big ball on the bottom and it needed to be a little shorter, so I took that off. I wanted to add crystals to mine, but wasn't sure how it would look. It looks absolutely FABULOUS! I have not painted it yet, but am so excited to do so. Thank you for the inspiration.
Saw you on Tater tots. I just wish I had saved my two huge brass chandeliers - but they would have taken up way too much storage space in the 10 years between getting rid of and getting a new idea. Somebody got a good find at Goodwill.
I love it... I did one like this in red for my outdoor patio!! love love it... come see me!!
This is gorgeous! I totally want to paint my mom's chandelier now.
Found you on Homemaking on a Dime and I am your newest follower.
Love the color!! That is my favorite color. I did not notice the wires until you pointed it out!
ADORE!! this!! The color is fantastic. Where did you get the crystals? I'm sure you get lots of wows when people see this. I'd love to have this in our entry way.
I'd like to invite you to my Transformations and Treasures party on Wednesdays! This would be a great one to show off.
Beautiful!! You did a lovely job I love the color you chose too!

I just finished doing my own chandalier make over! You inspired me. I used a robin egg blue. The fixture was free and I upcycled an older crystal chandalier to make a beautiful entry way jaw dropper! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
PLEASE tell me where you got acrylic crystals and beads I cant find anywhere :(((((((((((((
